DEFINITIONS

Bent on Face – This orientation applies the same as the Inside Radius (ISR) definition, price when you need to bend your molding to fit an inside radius curve.

Bent on Back – This orientation applies the same as the Outside Radius (OSR) definition, when you need to bend your molding to fit an outside radius curve.

Diameter – The width of a circle at the center.

ISR – Inside Radius – An application with a concave shape (curved inward).  For example, the inside of a barrel.

Paint Grade – Flexible moldings with a smooth finish, without wood grain markings.

Orientation – Specifies which edge of the molding profile you want to face the outside or inside of the radius, or top or bottom of the application (cove up, or cove down).

OSR – Outside Radius – An application with a convex (curved outward) shape.

Radius – The measurement from the exact center of a circle to the outside or circumference. It is one-half of the diameter.

Rise – The measurement from an imaginary line (the width) to the top of a curve.

Reveal – This is the amount a molding will be set back from an opening.

Rabbet – Is a recess or groove cut into the edge of a piece of panel molding.

Width – The measurement of the area to be trimmed at its widest point.
